The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Hugh Hannan can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Here we go throw me under the bus "AGAIN" Something you would say as we teased one another before we got a move sheet. It was a lot of fun working with "YOU"

I'll Tell the Marine guards at the gates of Heaven to let you and your fishing poles in even the one with the broken tip. You know the one....

You will be missed by many Hugh, and Remembered

Condolence: I am so very saddened at the passing of our dear brother Hugh. He was one of my longest friends going back also to prep school days and then Excelsior. All those years he was of consistent good character. Charming, pleasant, friendly, caring, loyal. His passing is a great loss, I hope to see him again one day in heaven, where there will be no more pain and suffering, no more tears. My heart goes out to his parents and loved ones. Only God knows the depth of the grief you are feeling. May you be strengthened and comforted by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My dear brother Hugh! Gone from us too soon! May your soul rest in peace.

Condolence: Hugh was a great guy and friend who I enjoyed working closely with until my retirement. Hugh shared with me many stories of his youth growing up in both Jamaica and California and his service in the US Air Force. I was privileged to have known and worked with Hugh.

Condolence From: Destry Brown

Hugh was my brother in every sense of the word, except for the accident of biology. Our lives had been intertwined from birth, so although we were not linked by blood we were certainly bonded by affinity.

I do not recall a time when Hugh was not a central part of my live. Our parents were long-time friends who lived in the same yard in Jamaica; and our births were separated by a mere two months and three days.

We attended the same prep school and ended up as classmates in high school at Excelsior High in Kingston, Jamaica. When we immigrated to America- Hugh preceded me by 2 years – we again lived in close proximity to each other in New Jersey.

Throughout our childhood, Hugh acted as my bodyguard and protector and would defend me even when I was in the wrong! If I had a brother he could not be any closer than Hugh was to me

Hugh’s passing is felt worldwide by all those knew and loved him and many who are here and others who could not make it. We are separated by oceans but linked by our common love for Hugh and the grief we share at his passing.

We have been leaning on each other for strength with words of comfort. But how does one make mere words bridge an ocean of grief that stretches to so many points around the globe?

Because of the event on June 10, 2018, Hugh and I are now temporarily separated but I have no doubt that we will be together again in a time.

Hugh Maurice Hannan I missed you in worst way brethren.

I Love You!

Condolence: I was surprised and saddened to learn of Hugh's passing. I thought all was well, as I would notice his presence at the various 76ers' reunions. I send my condolences and positive thoughts to all his loved ones. I always knew him to be a "cool guy." He will be sadly missed. Gone but not forgotten.

Condolence: The XLCR community especially those of us in South Florida will truly miss you. I will forever cherish the many laughs and pleasantries on those homeward bound bus rides during High School. You will be forever in my memory. Sincere condolences to Hugh’s parents.
