"To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven." In Detroit, Michigan, for the late Howard Edward Simmons Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Simmons, March 24, 1959, was the beginning of a new season, as their baby girl, Robin Elaine Simmons, the youngest of three children, was born. Robin graduated from Mackenzie High School in 1977 and along with her diploma she earned her cosmetology license. In 1984, Robin also earned her barber’s license in the State of Oklahoma.

On a trip to the local mall with her mother and sister, Veronica Simmons, Robin met the love of her life, Daryl Lynem. The couple were married on December 5, 1980. The couple reared 3 children together and later in their marriage they adopted a daughter. In 1986, an opportunity took Robin and Daryl to Dallas, Texas, where they resided for 13 years. Robin, who had a natural talent for hairstyling and haircutting, began what would lead to 28-year career at the Regis Corporation which started in Irving, Texas.
Over the course of her career, Robin made her mark in the beauty industry that will forever be remembered. She won the Presidential Award in 1994 as a Salon Manger by increasing her salon sales by 41% in the calendar year. Her success was the highest increase in the nation for the company in all salon categories. Robin was later promoted to an area supervisor in Dallas, Texas, overseeing 13 Signature Regis Hair Salons in the local malls. In 1998 her Husband Daryl received a promotion that relocated their family to Sunny South Florida. This triggered a chain of events that promoted Robin to Regional Manager in the state of Florida for a new division of Regis , Smart Style Family Hair Salons located in Walmart Super Centers.
Robin ultimately had oversight for 95 + salons across 3 states Florida, Georgia and Alabama. In the 2002-2003 edition of Who's Who, she was recognized for her many achievements. Over the span of her 28 years with Regis, she maintained the position as the number 1 or 2 region within her category. Many other recognitions were given to her in appreciation for her challenging work and exceptional management and technical skills. International success in the company took her to many countries, which include, Spain, Germany, England, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Turkey, China, Thailand, Canada , Mexico and the Hawaiian Islands . Robin ended her career with Regis as a Regional Vice President in 2015. Robin was a well-rounded Individual and enjoyed many hobbies at home, such as cooking for her family , home improvement , game nights with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed anything that would challenge her such as puzzles, crocheting blankets, new recipes and entertaining her friends. Robin was always the life of the party and could light up any room. She enjoyed great music, dancing ,card games and fun times with friends and family.
Her "season" now ended, Robin leaves to cherish her memory: her loving Husband, Daryl E. Lynem; her children, Candis N. Lynem, Daryl E. Lynem Jr., Brianna R. Lynem, Mia N. Fields –Thornton and husband Gordon L. Thornton (North Carolina); two grandsons - Niles P. Lynem and Jayden D. Cotten; 1 Sister, Veronica Simmons (Detroit Michigan); 1 Nephew Brandon Henry (Detroit Michigan); cousins and many sorrowing friends. Robin was proceeded in death by: her Father Howard E.
