McKinley’s heart was reflected in the deep love and care he had for family. He married his childhood sweetheart, Minnie Belle Taylor, in 1954. He later moved to Broward County, FL, where he worked tirelessly to provide for his young family, eventually starting the first African American Pool Plastering business in Broward County.
McKinley loved animals and found great pleasure in gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, and boating. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Throughout 65 years of marriage, he and Minnie enjoyed many joyful times with their five children, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
