Peter immigrated to Canada in February 1954 and spent the first two years in Montreal; thereafter he moved to New Jersey where he married in June 1956.
Peter lived and worked in New Jersey until his retirement. Some years later he relocated to a retirement community in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. He made friends there, many of whom were snowbirds from the Montreal and Toronto areas.
Peter lived life on his terms and enjoyed the warm weather and his many hours at the retirement community club. He maintained close contact with his family and often traveled and visited with them in Montreal where he will be missed.
He will be deeply missed by his very dear friend and constant companion Ruth Sortino. The family wants to thank Ruth for her friendship, she became like one of the family. Also much thanks to neighbors Richard and Sonia who were and continue to be there to provide support and any services required. Thank you.
His life was taken by Covid-19 but he lived a good healthy life up to his sudden departure. May he now Rest in Peace.
Poem of Life
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord
