A TIME TO BE BORN:
Henry T. Mackey was born in Jensen Beach, FL on November 18, 1948 to the late Mr. & Mrs. George F. Mackey, Sr.
A TIME TO LIVE:
Henry was a lifetime resident of Martin County; however, he received his primary and secondary education in the St. Lucie County Public School System. Learning the skill of Horticulture from his father and having the same entrepreneurial spirit, Henry pursued his calling in Landscaping maintenance and design. Henry believed firmly in hard work and making an honest day’s wage.
His immense skill in lawn maintenance made him highly sought after throughout the community and tri-county area at large.
He was also known the be the,” Preacher” to many friends, associates and perhaps anyone who was standing by would hear one of his many addresses. Many of his known phrases were: “A leaky bucket can’t hold no water”, “You can lead the horse to the water, but you can’t make him drink”, “You must have it in your heart” to list a few.
His wit and strong personality will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
A TIME TO LEAVE:
On Monday, December 28, 2020 at Tradition Medical Center, Henry departed this life with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Siblings, Alice M. Dixon, Mary Ann Mackey and Brother, Roderick Mackey.
A TIME TO MOURN:
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Florence Parish of Ft. Pierce, FL, Franklin Mackey of Jensen Beach, FL, Inez Brabson (Elmer) of Los Angeles, CA, Mildred Mackey of Jensen Beach, FL, Loretta M. Pieze of Miami Gardens, FL, Priscilla Minnis of Stuart, FL, Thalia Hodge of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Daniel Mackey of Jensen Beach, FL; A special companion, Mary Helen Starks of Stuart, Fl; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowful friends
